This is made of silicone, which has a much longer durability than standard rubber. If you experience that the portafilter (filter frame) can be tightened further than 90 degrees, it is possible that the fasteners on either the portafilter, or on top of the group are worn. You can then try changing to a group gasket with 8.5 mm, or 9 mm.
